The cowhide is 1.2-1.3 mm thick. Thicker leather takes longer to wear through in a slide. Too thick, though, and the jacket feels stiff. This thickness sits in the middle. The leather is drum-dyed, so scuffs show less, and milled, so it bends more easily. Stretch Cordura in the sleeves adds even more reach.
Removable CE Level 2 armor sits at the shoulders and elbows. It meets EN 1621-1:2012. A removable back protector covers the spine and is compatible with EN 1621-2. On the outside, TPU-reinforced metal protectors sit on the shoulders and TPU sliders on the elbows. You can take out the inner armor to clean the lining.
Perforation means small holes punched in the leather. They let air in on hot days. You can choose none, the chest only, the full front or the whole jacket. Full perforation gives the most air flow. No perforation keeps out more wind and cold. If you ride in many seasons, the chest or front option is a middle choice.
