It is also milled, or tumbled, to make it softer. So the jacket resists scrapes but still bends at the elbows. Each panel is stitched by hand, with safety stitching at the stress points.
The jacket holds removable CE Level 2 armor at the shoulders and elbows. This armor meets EN 1621-1:2012, the European standard for limb armor. Level 2 lets less force through than Level 1. The back holds a removable protector that is EN 1621-2 compatible. That is the standard for back protectors.
