Cossacks were horse riders from the plains of Eastern Europe. Their coats had a high collar, a closed front and a belted waist. In the 1930s, this look moved into everyday jackets. This black version keeps the Cossack collar and the belted waist, but uses a shirt-style cut. The waist buckle is antique brass, and the front closes with coat buttons.
The jacket uses 0.9-1.0 mm cowhide. That is a midweight hide. It is firmer than soft lambskin, so the jacket keeps its shape and the collar stands up. Yet it is lighter than the thick leather on race gear, so it is easy to wear all day. Cotton padding in the body adds a little warmth. The leather softens as you wear it.
The regular lining is cotton, which feels soft and breathes well. A sublimated lining lets you upload your own print, which is applied to the lining fabric.
