The gloves have an aramid Kevlar lining under the cowhide shell. Aramid is a strong man-made fiber that is hard to cut or tear. The leather on top is 0.8-0.9 mm thick. Sliders on the palm, thumb and fingers sit on soft poly-foam, which adds a little cushion. The space between the thumb and first finger has an extra layer of leather, since that area rubs most on the grips.
Each glove has two Velcro closures. A strap at the wrist pulls the glove snug, so it stays in place when you ride. A second Velcro tab closes the cuff over the end of your sleeve.
