The vest uses cowhide that is 1.4-1.5 mm thick. That is a sturdy weight for a vest. It holds its shape on its own and does not crease easily. It is heavier than a fashion vest, which makes it a good layer for riding in cool air. With wear, the leather softens and starts to follow the shape of your body.
Here is how it works. Choose Custom Size in the Size options, then check out. Once checkout is done, you get an order number. Open the measurement form and send your order number together with your body measurements. The form asks for your height, chest girth, waist and waist length. Pick no lining if you want the lightest vest to wear over a jacket. The regular lining is a polyester mesh. It feels cool and lets air pass, which helps on warm rides. The sublimated lining lets you upload your own art, such as a pattern or a photo you own, and print it inside. You choose the lining in the product options before checkout.
Wipe off dust with a soft, dry cloth. For dirt, use a damp cloth with a little leather cleaner, then wipe dry. Every six months or so, rub in leather conditioner in small circles and buff it off.
