About Jorge Martin
Motocross racer Jorge Martin Almoguera, also known as the Martinator, was born on January 29, 1998, and competes for Prima Pramac Racing in the Spanish Grand Prix. Moving up to the top class in 2021, Jorge Martin won the Styrian motorcycle Grand Prix with Pramac Racing. In his first season, he also secured three pole positions out of his first seven entries. His greatest-known accomplishments are his victories in the 2014 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and the 2018 Moto3 World Championship with Gresini Racing.
With Mapfre Team Mahindra, Martín made his full-time Grand Prix debut in the Moto3 World Championship in 2015. He rode a Mahindra with Juanfran Guevara and Francesco Bagnaia. Martín competed in the 2016 Moto3 World Championship with the same squad. He finished second in the rain-affected Czech Grand Prix, his first-ever podium result. Martín joined the Del Conca Gresini Racing team in 2017. Fabio Di Giannantonio was a member of his team. He got off to a scorching start to the season, placing second in the USA, third in Qatar and Argentina, and on the podium in the first three races.
In the Moto3 class, Jorge Martin won the world championship in 2018. In addition to two-second places in San Marino and Valencia, a third place in Austria, seven wins (Qatar, America, Italy, The Netherlands, Germany, Aragon, and Malaysia), he continued his outstanding Saturday performances with eleven pole positions. After winning, Martín advanced to the 2019 Moto2 World Championship, where he competed as a rider for the Red Bull KTM Ajo Motorsport team. In Australia, he placed second, and in Japan, he took third.
Martín continued to ride for the Ajo team in 2020, although they now rode a Kalex. He had a strong start to the season, finishing third in Jerez and pole position. After that, he won the Austrian Grand Prix, his first Moto2 race, and placed second in the Styrian Grand Prix the following weekend. The date is September 10, 2020.
For the 2021 season, Martín and Johann Zarco—who had transferred from Esponsorama—joined Pramac Racing Ducati in the premier class. Martín began the year by finishing fifteenth in his maiden premier class race. He went on to take pole in Qatar for the race, finish third, and secure his first MotoGP podium in the following round.
For the 2022 MotoGP season, Pramac Racing retained Martín and Zarco. Martín smashed the lap record at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit and achieved pole position in the Australian motorcycle Grand Prix in 2022.
Jorge Martin and Zarco were signed by Pramac Racing to compete in the 2023 MotoGP World Championship.
