The shell is cowhide leather, 1.2-1.3 mm thick. That is a common thickness for sport riding gear. The hide is drum-dyed, so the blue and orange go deep into the leather. It is then milled, which makes it softer and easier to move in. A breathable mesh lining sits inside. Each jacket is cut and stitched by hand once you place the order.
Inside, removable CE Level 2 armor covers the shoulders and elbows. It meets EN 1621-1:2012. Level 2 is the higher of the two levels in that standard. A removable back protector fits along the spine and is EN 1621-2 compatible. Outside, the shoulders have metal protectors reinforced with TPU. The elbows have TPU sliders. You can take the inner armor out when you clean the jacket.
