A carbon guard covers the knuckles, the part of the hand that often hits first in a fall. TPU sliders on a foam base sit on the palm, thumb and fingers. They help the glove slide on the road instead of grabbing it. Flexible knuckle panels add cover but still let you bend your fingers. An extra leather layer sits between the thumb and index finger.
Aramid is a strong fiber, and Kevlar is a well-known brand of it. A layer of aramid sits inside these gloves, under the cowhide. It adds a second layer between your hand and the road. It is light, so the gloves still feel thin on the grips. The outer leather is 0.8-0.9 mm cowhide, which keeps good feel at the levers.
Both. The gloves come in sizes XS to 3XL, so they fit a wide range of hands. To find your size, measure around your palm just below the knuckles, without the thumb. Then measure from your wrist to the tip of your middle finger. Compare both numbers with the size chart. If you sit between sizes, try the larger one.
After a ride, wipe the gloves with a soft, dry cloth. If they get wet, let them dry at room temperature, away from heaters. Do not put them in the washer. Now and then, rub in a little leather conditioner to keep the cowhide soft. Close the Velcro before you store them, so it does not snag. More tips are in the leather care instructions.
Each glove has two Velcro closures. A short cuff closes around the wrist first, so the glove sits snug. Then a Velcro strap pulls across and locks it in place. This helps keep the glove on your hand if you fall. Pull both tight before you ride, but not so tight that your hand feels numb. You can loosen them at a stop.
