The cowhide is 1.1 to 1.3 mm thick. That is thick enough to hold its shape and resist scuffs, yet soft enough to bend with your arms. It has a natural finish, so it will slowly darken and soften with wear. Milled leather feels softer from day one than stiff, unmilled hide.
Wipe off dust with a soft, dry cloth. Use a cleaner made for leather on any marks. Rub in a leather conditioner once or twice a year to keep it from drying out.
