The vest is cut from cowhide leather that is 1.2–1.3 mm thick. It has a plain finish, so the natural grain of the hide shows. This weight is light enough to wear over a shirt. It is still firm enough for daily use on or off the bike. Each panel is stitched by hand. The seams use safety stitching at the points that take the most strain.
The vest has four pockets in total. Outside, there are two side pockets. They are handy for keys or a phone. Inside, there is one snap pocket and one zipper pocket.
