The jacket uses cowhide leather that is 1.2-1.3 mm thick. The hide is drum-dyed and milled. Drum-dyeing puts the color all the way through the leather. Milling makes the hide softer, so it bends as you move. The sleeves also have Kevlar-look stretch Cordura panels. These panels give your arms more room on the bike. The whole jacket is hand-stitched and made to order.
The shoulders and elbows hold removable CE Level 2 armor. It meets EN 1621-1:2012, the European standard for arm and leg impact protectors. Level 2 lets less force pass through than Level 1. A removable back protector covers the spine, and it is EN 1621-2 compatible. On the outside, metal plates with TPU cover the shoulders. TPU sliders sit on the elbows. You can take the inner armor out before you clean the jacket.
