FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The jacket is cut from drum-dyed, milled cowhide. The leather is 1.2 to 1.3 mm thick. That is thick enough to help resist scuffs and tears if you slide. It is still soft enough to bend at the elbows when you tuck in. Drum dyeing takes the green and orange color deep into the hide. Each jacket is hand-stitched and made to order, so the panels are cut after you place your order.
Inside, removable CE Level 2 armor sits at the shoulders and elbows. It meets EN 1621-1:2012, the European standard for limb impact protectors. A removable back protector is EN 1621-2 compatible. Outside, carbon-reinforced metal protectors cover the shoulders and TPU sliders cover the elbows. You can take the inner armor out to wipe the lining clean, then slip it back into its pockets before your next ride.
Pick Custom Size in the Size options and finish checkout. You then get an order number. Open the measurement form and enter that number with your body measurements. For the Abstract Race jacket, measure height, chest girth, waist, hip, sleeve length and waist length (down the back from the collar). Your jacket is then made to order from those numbers.
A speed hump is a raised pad on the upper back. It sits behind your helmet when you tuck in. You can choose No Hump, Standard, Ventilated or Hydro. Perforation means small holes punched in the leather to let air in. Pick none, chest, front or full perforation. Full perforation moves the most air on hot days. To compare other cuts, browse the

Wipe the leather with a soft, damp cloth after each ride. If it gets wet, let it dry at room temperature, away from heaters and strong sun. Take the armor out before you clean the mesh lining. Rub in a leather conditioner now and then to keep the cowhide soft. Do not put the jacket in a washing machine. The leather care instructions give more tips.
