The Rome bag is cut from cowhide with a crazy horse finish. The leather is 1.2-1.4 mm thick, so it holds its shape but still bends when you pack it. Crazy horse leather shows natural marks and changes in color. Small scuffs blend in and the tan shade darkens with use. Each bag is hand-stitched and made to order, so no two look quite the same.
On the front, buckle pockets with flaps hold small things you reach for often, such as keys, a phone or tickets. You can open them without opening the main bag. Inside, one large zip pocket keeps a wallet, papers or a tablet safe. The main bag closes with a YKK zipper in an antique brass finish, which matches the buckles and button.
The bag is 16 inches long, 12 inches high and 12 inches wide. That is room for a change of clothes, a wash bag and a few daily items. Two handles let you carry it by hand. The adjustable strap lets you wear it on one shoulder or across your body, and you can take the strap off when you do not need it.
Wipe the bag with a dry, soft cloth to remove dust. For marks, use a cloth that is only a little damp, then let the leather dry at room temperature.
