Max Biaggi Former Grand Prix Motorcycle Road Racing World Champion

Italian former professional Grand Prix motorcycle road racer Massimiliano Max Biaggi was born on June 26, 1971, and has won six World Championships. One of only two riders to win championships in all classes, he has four 250 cc road racing crowns and two World Superbike titles.

Biaggi represents Aprilia motorbikes as a brand ambassador. He has owned a Monaco-based Moto3 racing team since 2019.

Biaggi was inducted into the MotoGP Hall of Fame in 2022 after being selected as a FIM Road Racing Legend in 2020.

Biaggi has won 13 races in the Premier Class. He has won the 250cc World Championship four times, the World Superbike Championship twice, and the Premier Class runner-up three times, in 1998, 2001, and 2002.

Following four straight 250cc championships (1994, 1995, 1996, and 1997), Max Biaggi advanced to the 500cc class in 1998 and lost to Mick Doohan in his first two Honda triumphs. He was promoted to the Factory Yamaha Team in 1999 as a result of this. During his four seasons with Yamaha, Biaggi won eight races and was runner-up in 2001 and 2002 behind Valentino Rossi. In 2003, he relocated to Camel Honda. but was only able to finish third in the championship in 2003 and 2004, losing to both Gresini Honda rider Sete Gibernau and Valentino Rossi. Despite having four podium finishes and a fifth-place finish in the championship, Biaggi was replaced by Dani Pedrosa for the 2006 season after the Factory Honda Team's only winless season in 2005. It turned out that this was Biaggi's last MotoGP season.

After Raymond Roche, Biaggi became the second European from outside the United Kingdom to win a Superbike World Championship in 2010 after switching to the Superbike World Championship in 2007 and placing third overall as a rookie. Biaggi retired from racing in 2012, having won a second Superbike World Championship at the age of forty-one. However, he returned in 2015 as a wildcard to place fourth in Malaysia at the age of 44.

A consistent rider, Max Biaggi finished inside the top 5 in the championship standings in each of his eight MotoGP/500cc seasons, and he was the runner-up in the championship three times, in 1998, 2001, and 2002. winning a race in the Premier Class seven times in a row, from 1998 to 2004. Biaggi is one of the most accomplished riders to not win the MotoGP World Championship thanks to his 13 victories, 58 podiums, and 23 pole positions in the Premier Class.
