Andrea Iannone The Maniac Joe
Andrea Iannone, born 9 August 1989, is a motorcycle racer. He competed in the MotoGP World Championship from 2013 to 2019. He has won 4 races in the 125 cc World Championship and finished 7th overall in 2009.
After that, he made his move to the Moto2 World Championship in 2010 where he won 8 races and had three consecutive third-place finishes. Then, in 2013 he moved up to the MotoGP class on a satellite Ducati bike with Pramac Racing. In 2015 he was moved up to the Factory Ducati Team for two seasons before being moved up again to Suzuki in 2017. Andrea Iannone after joining Suzuki managed to get 3 podiums, a Pole Position, and what proved to be his best championship position and points tally of 5th and 188. There were also 4 more podiums in 2016 including a maiden MotoGP win at the Austrian Grand Prix. After the arrival of triple World Champion Jorge Lorenzo to Suzuki Iannone joined him on the team in 2017. After an unsuccessful first season without a podium, Iannone managed to get a further 4 podium finishes with Suzuki in 2018.
Andrea Iannone is serving a four-year competition ban from December 17, 2019. He was initially given an 18-month ban by FIM and WADA, which was then extended to four years by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
